The NBA Lagos Branch has been the pace setter and front of the pack amongst the branches of Nigerian Bar Association in the country. This is in no small part due to its unrivaled numerical strength of some of the finest legal practitioners.
For our beloved Branch to continue to stay in front and even raise the bar more, it needs to get its very best into leadership positions. However we are in danger of just doing rinse and repeat when we need to actually set new standards and bring in innovations and this is why Bisi’s NEW DEAL appeals a lot to me.
Three things jumped at me from Bisi’s manifesto.
- Court Monitoring.
- Transforming our monthly meetings from Knowledge sharing sessions to Business meetings for networking and a wide range of opportunities to improve our practice
- Value add for membership of the branch and something tangible in return for payment of our branch dues e.g discounted Uber rides to lawyers interfacing establishments like courts, land registry etc
I have no doubt my mind that he can deliver on these promises and many more in his manifesto. Bisi’s candidacy excites me and I see the branch making giant strides forward under his chairmanship.
A vote for Bisi is a vote for a new but effective way of doing things with positive impact on members.
