A trader, Yeyebo Mohamed Yusuf in charge number ID/7098C/18 was yesterday, 16th of March 2020 docked for allegedly killing one Ogundele Abass before Justice M.A. Dada of the High Court of Lagos State sitting in Ikeja at the Special Offences Court.
The fact as presented by the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) Inspector Tochukwu Onyia attached to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Lagos being led in evidence-in-chief was that sometime in October 2017, at number 33, Kadiri Street in the Dopemu, Agege area of Lagos State, the Defendant sold goods worth of N150 to the deceased person and the deceased person went away only come back that the Defendant failed to give him a change of N350 having given the Defendant N500 initially. The Defendant refused to give the change stating that he did not owe the deceased any change and a fight ensued in which the Defendant shook the deceased with a dagger, the deceased slumped and was taking to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Defendant was subsequently arrested and taken to Dopemu Police station and later transferred to the State CID, Panti before he was arraigned.
The matter ended up in a trial within trial on the 16th of March 2020 and was adjourned till 20th April, 2020 for judgement on the trial within trial.
