Last week, on Thursday, December 14th, 2023, the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN) convened for their highly anticipated Annual General Meeting (AGM) and celebrated the conclusion of the year with a vibrant gathering at the prestigious Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel, situated in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The pivotal moment of the AGM was the ceremonious passing of the baton of leadership from the former President, Ayodele Akintunde SAN, to Chimezie Victor Ihekwazu SAN, signifying a significant transition in the association’s governance.
One of the highlights of this event was the election of new council members. Among those re-elected were esteemed individuals like Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri SAN, Mr. Mike Igbokwe SAN (PhD), and Dr. Adebola Olubanjo. Joining the council as fresh faces were Dr. Kubi Udofia, Mr. Kuti Olujide, Dr. Nwuke Okechukwu, Chief Umeh Philip Ndubuisi SAN, Mr. Olumide Bidemi Daniel, and Mr. Lotanna Chuka Okoli, SAN.
The newly appointed executive members, who will serve a two-year term, were inaugurated during the AGM. Mr. CVC Ihekweazu SAN took the helm as President, supported by Mr. Albert Folorunsho as Vice President, Mr. Ariyibi Abiodun as 1st Deputy Vice President, Mr. Okorie Kalu as 2nd Deputy Vice President, Ms. Efosa Ewere as General Secretary, and Mrs. Bolanle Alao as Treasurer.
Moreover, the AGM saw the induction of 72 Associates and 13 Fellows as esteemed members of BRIPAN, signifying a growing community dedicated to the association’s mission.
During the proceedings, Mr. Akintunde SAN provided a comprehensive account of his tenure, highlighting the significant achievements under his leadership. He showcased strides in organizing training sessions, seminars, and conferences for members, fostering membership growth, establishing strategic partnerships with similar associations, and enhancing BRIPAN’s visibility both locally and internationally.
In his inaugural speech, newly appointed President, Mr. CVC Ihekweazu SAN, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by BRIPAN’s members. He emphasized the importance of building upon the foundations laid by past executives, acknowledging their contributions in elevating the association to its current status. He pledged an open-door policy, encouraging members to share their ideas and contribute to propelling BRIPAN to greater heights.
The AGM concluded on a high note with an End of the Year party, marking the end of an eventful and transformative gathering for BRIPAN members.
