Following the banning of open grazing in Benue State, the Governor state, Samuel Ortom stated that there has been influx of armed men to the state.
Whilst talking to the press he stated that there have been incidents of rape and destruction of crops and properties of residents in the farms. The Governor stated that people should not be killed in their ancestral lands.
The Chief Security Adviser to the state governor, Paul Hemba also stated that the grazing routes of the herders are mapped out and monitored for the security of lives and properties.
