Amongst the many resolutions reached by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) at its last National Executive Committee Meeting (NEC) held at the NBA Auditorium, NBA House, Abuja on Thursday, the 12th day of March 2020, it was resolved that, following the revamped website of the NBA wherein legal practitioners can order for their NBA stamps online, Branch Chairmen should be informed online by e-mail of such orders and should have the opportunity to approve or disapprove online such orders within 7 (seven) days from the date of the order placement failing which the National Secretariat will proceed to place the orders with the vendors for production; and (b) the printed stamps will be sent by the National Secretariat to the lawyers who placed the orders through the Branch Chairmen.
These checks were instituted to ensure that lawyers do not bypass the Branches and default in their obligations to their Branches in the placement of their stamps’ orders.
The resolution was contained in a communiqué issued by the NBA in respect of the NEC meeting held at the NBA Auditorium, NBA House, Abuja on Thursday, the 12th day of March 2020
