Ogunlana Adesina Ademola , Chairman of Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association has called for caution by National Assembly over the Draft Infectious Diseases Control Bill , being fast tracked for passage towards containing the Coronavirus Pandemic.

He made this known in a Facebook live video , streamed on the YouTube Channel of the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association , RAMINBA TV.

In a statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, the Secretary of the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Ogunlana raised concerns over the speed and secrecy attached to the contents and process of passage of the Bill.

He highlighted the draconian provisions of the Bill , which will empower the Minister of Health with powers to acquire private buildings for use as Isolation Centres. While on the face, this appears to be positive, it can be used for mass acquisition of private properties without any check whatsoever.

Mr. Ogunlana also expressed worry over the duplication of the Infectious Diseases Control Bill of Singapore as the current Infectious Diseases Control Bill, without any careful application to the Nigerian situation.

He also frowned at the rush for vaccines by the Nigerian government with the punitive sanctions of imprisonment or fine for anyone who refuses to take vaccine. He frowned at the disposition of the Nigerian government in failing to explore alternative medicine , which is being explores in African countries such as Senegal and Madagascar.

Mr. Ogunlana called on the national leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association not to be acquiescent at the face of the degenerating situation of the state of the country.

Mr. Ogunlana called on the National Assembly as well as the Presidential Taskforce against Coronavirus to draw inputs from the Nigerian Bar Association, Nigerian Medical Association, Academic Staff Union of Universities and the labour centres, Nigerian Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and United Labour Congress .

Mr. Ogunlana reiterated his #Radical Agenda to the Nigerian Bar Association to lead the Association into an outright battle against imperialists inspired attacks on the Nigerian people
