The Chairman, Executives and the Entire Members of NBA UKWA BRANCH condemns in the strongest terms, the attack on RT. HON. BARR. CHINEDUM ELECHI who is a Founding Member of the Branch.
The Chairman of the Branch was taken aback at the gruesome dehumanizing treatment and humiliation of RT. Hon. Barr. CHINEDUM ELECHI who was a former Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and a former Commissioner.
The now Director General of the Professor Uche Ikonne Campaign Organization was gruesomely attacked by an individual who is alleged to be an operative of the Ebonyi State Command of the State Security Services (SSS) with a sharp machete inflicting multiple machete cuts all over his body.
During an emergency Executive Meeting held at 13.30 hrs today. The Branch Chairman Barr. Chinonso Nwosu states that ” the SSS Agent acted below the level of a civilised society and without the benefits of his intelle ct” and went ahead to salute the courage of the members of the public and men of the Nigeria Police who helped to overpower the perpetrator and recovered the instrument of attack.
The Branch Chairman hereby demands a thorough investigation into this unfathomable display of gangster like tendencies which is not acceptable to a sane society such as ours.
The Chairman further assures The Senior Lawyer that NBA UKWA BRANCH shall not allow such menace to go unpunished, as efforts has been made to report this matter to the NBA National and assures NDI UKWA that this Administration shall not tolerate any forms of humiliation of her members.
