As residents resume work in Lagos State, it is not yet Uhuru for lawyers and other road users in the Epe area of the state.
Prince Adesola S. Abimbola, the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Epe Branch has sent a save-our-soul appeal to the Lagos state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, impressing it on him to pay a visit to Epe through Ibeju town.
“From Ibeju Agbe link bridge to Epe link bridge is hell and it has given the miscreants a new haven.” He stated.
He also appealed to the Conglomerate, Dangote Group, which had commenced the setting-up business operations along the axis to show their social responsibility to the people of the Epe region.
The residents and the road users along the axis find it difficult to access Epe from ijebu ode through itokin, from Ajah to Epe and from Ikorodu.
The lawyer stated that there are daily accidents on the axis that involves the trucks of Dangote and other sub contractors working at the Dangote refinery.
“Some of these accidents have destroyed the road beyond palliative repairs and the lasting solution would be to reconstruct the road entirely.” He lamented.
“We may have to boycott the Epe Court as a way to send better signals to the people concerned. This is a punishment too many. Our vehicles are spoilt on a daily basis.” Prince Abimbola added.
