Good morning Brethren,
I hope this message meets you and your family well.
As the electoral processes of NBA closes to the voting point I wish to remind us all of the Homily of our Chief Shepherd Most Rev. (Dr.) Alfred Adewale Martins, the Archbishop of Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos at our 2018 New Legal Year Mass on September 23, 2018 urging Catholic Lawyers to actively participate in the political space so we can bring our ethics and teachings of the Church to impact the society positively and bring about the desired change we all want.
Building on that and on the policy of NACL Lagos to encourage our members to play active roles in whichever political space they find themselves, one of our own, Chinyere Obasi has thrown her cap into the ring for the post of Welfare Secretary in the coming election and the least we can do is to support her not just during the election but also after the election to ensure she leaves positive marks on the sand of NBA.
Chinyere Obasi is a member of NACL Catholic Church of Assumption, Falomo, Lagos and a member of NBA Lagos Branch. Chinyere Obasi is a financial member having paid her NACL Lagos dues consistently for over 3 years and participates at NACL Lagos activities.
Chinyere Obasi has equally served NBA Lagos Branch as Social Secretary (which was the equivalent of today’s Welfare Secretary before the advent of Uniform Bye-Laws in NBA) and no doubt performed that function creditably well leading to her endorsement for this same election by NBA Lagos Branch.
I therefore have the pleasure in endorsing Chinyere Obasi for the office of Welfare Secretary not just because she is our member but also because she was entrusted with a similar position in the largest branch of NBA among others and she performed creditably well and I urge our members to not just vote for her but equally work in whatever capacity they can towards victory for her as victory for her in the polls is victory for NACL Lagos, competence and efficiency.
National Association of Catholic Lawyers, Lagos (NACL Lagos)
