As controversy continue to trail the alleged formation of the Law Society of Nigeria (LSN), the NBA Ughelli Branch at her monthly general meeting held on the 13th day of November 2022 unanimously denounced the Law society of Nigeria.
Following a motion moved by a ranking past chairman of the branch Pastor E.O. Jewo and seconded by another past chairman of the branch E.S Ayo-Okhiria, the branch condemned the move by a splinter group to create a parallel body for lawyers in Nigeria and reiterated that no member of the NBA Ughelli branch will be a member of Law Society of Nigeria or any other group as the Nigerian Bar Association remains the umbrella and only body for lawyers called to the Nigerian Bar.
The Chairman of the Branch M.E. Osume appreciated members for disassociating themselves from the parallel group and urge members to continue to be law abiding citizens.
