Nigeria battled military rule to a standstill. Today we celebrate ourselves and those who fought the military out of government. We do not have the ideal democratic freedom yet because pressmen are still being hounded and incarcerated today but we have come a long way. It is a time we need to reflect on what we have achieved so far with democracy. But notwithstanding the state of the nation, there is something to celebrate because it has been a long walk to freedom.
