Greetings to the elders, officers and members of the NBA Ogoja Branch. From NBA Zaria, news has reached us that plans are in top gear for the NBA Ogoja 2022 Branch Law Week set for Monday 20th of June to Wednesday the 22nd of June 2022. I celebrate with you on this auspicious
I am thoroughly impressed at your theme: The Rule of law and Insecurity in the present day Nigeria.
This is because the theme speaks to the current challenges bedevilling the nation and how the rule of law can be used to tackle the menace so that peace is restored to the nation.
Indeed, there can be no nation, where insecurity is the order of the day and the rule of law is disrespected every step of the way.
As a nation, we must continue to insist on the supremacy of the rule of law, at all times, no matter whose ox is gored. Discussions of this nature at law weeks are of great importance as they ensure that those at the helm of affairs do not forget the basic principles of governance and that the people insist on abiding by the tenets of the rule of law.
The current state of insecurity in the nation is so bad that it is almost as if life means nothing! We really must continue to remind government of its primary mandate to secure lives and property.
I am therefore very grateful to NBA Ogoja for choosing this theme. As your law week commences, may it be a huge success and may all your deliberations be fruitful.
Ogoja is home to me as I have visited the town many times to visit my dear friends there. Friends have elder Marc Enamhe have indeed showed me that members of Ogoja Branch are very nice and hospitable. Indeed, I was there recently to condole with learned silk, Joe Agi, SAN when he
buried his mother, and I must say, your hospitality was again on full display. Thank you NBA Ogoja.
Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem.
Long live the NBA! Long live NBA Ogoja!!!
God bless you all.
