Earlier today, Mr. Kelechukwu Uzoka, LLM, MCIArb (UK), lead partner at K&C Partners, was sighted at the secretariat of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch amidst fanfare as he picked up his nomination form for the office of the Branch Secretary for the 2023 Branch elections.
Kelechukwu, who is also referred to as “the juggernaut, Esq” has been a significant presence in the NBA scene for some time now having served in the Branch Dinner Committee (for two terms), Human Rights Committee, Mentoring Committee, among others. He has made significant contributions which tremendously impacted on the successes on all the committees he has been privileged to serve.
Kelechukwu, a mentor to several bar aspirants and lawyers, heads a tech-driven boutique law partnership (K&C Partners) located in Lagos, with a branch office in Awka, Anambra State and a correspondence office in Abuja.
Kelechukwu is a dispute resolution specialist and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
He is currently the secretary of the 2023 Conference Planning Committee of the National Association of Catholic Lawyers (NACL), Lagos Archdiocese.
In 2020 during and in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests, Mr. Uzoka was one of the leading voices and actors for the protection of the rights of protesters and secured the release of several persons who were unlawfully detained for participating in the protests.
He is a result oriented and focused person with considerable experience in technology law and LegalTech, real estate and construction, branding, entertainment law, intellectual property, dispute resolution, and start-up advisory. He also has interests in policy research and governance.
Kelechukwu is a co-founder of the Young Legal Professionals, a voluntary organisation for lawyers under 40 years.
With his experience in tech and consistent service in the Nigerian Bar Association, it is expected that Kelechukwu would bring much needed innovation to the office of the Secretary of NBA Lagos Branch.
