The Electoral Committee of the NBA Lagos Branch has notified Olabisi Makanjuola, a partner in the law firm of Olaniwun Ajayi LP of his qualification to contest for the post of Chairman of the branch in the elections fixed for the 27th of June, 2023.
Bisi Makanjuola – who was chairman of the finance and fundraising subcommittee of the 2022 Annual Bar Dinner of the Branch – disclosed the exciting news today and pledged a New Deal for members of the branch. In his words “ ….. I pledge to you, a New Deal.”
Bisi also stated that he will be sharing his manifesto and action plan in the coming days as he has a host of exciting initiatives and “products” for all lawyers in the branch.
Bisi heads the dispute resolution practice group at Olaniwun Ajayi and has almost two decades of significant experience in arbitration and commercial litigation, with particular focus on banks and other financial institutions. He has made legal representations in superior courts across Nigeria in disputes relating to corporate shareholding, capital market regulations, contracts, fraud, white-collar crimes, and infrastructure projects. Bisi was recently ranked as both a ‘Next Generation Partner’ and a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ in Nigeria in the 2023 Edition of Legal 500 Rankings. He is ranked in Dispute Resolution and Real Estate & Construction.
He has also completed a secondment at the offices of Herbert Smith Freehills, U.K. and Paris and was in 2020, recognized as one of the leading young arbitrators in Nigeria.
Bisi recently completed a management course at the Lagos Business School adding to his vast managerial skills.
