It was just like yesterday when the struggle began. It was initially a solo effort but along the line you saw the passion in me to serve NBA and you gave me your unflinching and uncommon support.
You will recall that I was initially disqualified by ECNBA on the ground that my seconder Mr. S. B Ajibade does not have the required length of membership of NEC. I appealed against this decision and it took ECNBA several weeks to determine the appeal.
Ordinarily one would have expected ECNBA to verify from the National Secretariat of the NBA if Mr. S.B Ajibade was actually a Chairman of Osogbo branch between 2017 to 2019 but ECNBA never bothered to verify this and hurriedly disqualified me. All these period you all gave me hope and strength, you gave me a shoulder to lean on, urging me to press on and not relent, and that I should stand strong and undeterred. I had to source for NEC BUNDLES which contains minutes of meetings attended by Mr. S. B Ajibade as Chairman of Osogbo branch between 2017 to 2019 and it was discovered that he attended all NEC meetings.
did not stop at that, I forwarded the disqualification mail sent to me by ECNBA to the General Secretary of the NBA to clarify the position of Mr. S.B Ajibade and the General Secretary confirmed that Mr. Ajibade was actually the chairman of the Ososbo branch between 2017 and 2019 and remains the NEC Rep of Osogbo branch since 2019 till date.
I promptly forwarded the confirmation letter from the General Secretary to ECNBA.
Despite the overwhelming evidence submitted by me on this issue, I was not cleared by ECNBA until several weeks after, when the election was few days away. In all these you stood by me and gave me courage to press on. It will amount to knocking courtesy on the head if I fail to acknowledge your labour of love on this journey day and night. I pray that you will never lack help when you need it. Though I am not satisfied with the result of the election however I owe it a duty to appreciate you for your support, prayers, words of encouragement and labour day and night.
We gave our best collectively and I can never forget you. This relationship we have built in the course of this journey will remain for life.
