Many lawyers seem to be unaware of the “Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act.” Only a very few know that it has been domesticated in Oyo. The law is super amazing when it comes to rape, sex and violence against people matters. The most beautiful part of the law to me is that it recognizes that men also get raped.

Well, talking about rape and everything around sexual harassment, abuse, molestation and the like, we know that some principals and senior in our law firms are not less guilty.

One important part of having a great law business is to have people speaking well of you including sexual and romantic matters. Many lawyers are adulterous, engaged to more than one person and some are actually guilty or sexual and romantic ethical offences.

Discipline and self-mastery are key to doing well in business. Being successful is beyond having big credit alerts and amazing properties. It includes how safe men and women are around you.

Some have been accused of flirting with their clients, and some have done divorce petitions and ended up having an affair with one of the parties. I know one in one particular jurisdiction that even married the client after getting her divorce. Some others are confused and do not know how to handle the improper romance going on in their office among their colleagues.

As trained sex, relationship, marriage and family counsellor, my counsel this morning is that if you need help to handle any sexual or romantic challenge you are facing or that is tearing your office apart, seek help.
