I am greatly honoured to have the opportunity to share my thoughts with you, the distinguished leadership and members of the vibrant Benin branch (“Lion Bar”) as you celebrate your Annual Law Week themed “Security: Panacea for National Growth”.
With this theme, you have hit the nail on the head as regards the present state of our country. The stats are vivid in revealing that our stagnation as a country has profound roots in the lack of security we suffer from. We are short of foreign investors who are unsure of Return on Investment owing to the ominous premonitions the country hold. In the same vein, local businesses are gravely affected by the constant threat posed by insecurity. How can any nation grow in such circumstances? We cannot overemphasize the need for security if we are serious about progressing.
I cannot end this message without commending very profoundly the Chairman (the energetic Pius Idemudia Oiwoh, Esq.), his ever supportive executive and branch members for the sterling achievements they have recorded in less than 2 years, prominent of which is the 98% completion of the Hon. Justice E.A Edigin Floor of plot B. This points to your unmistakable capacity.
I wish all the members of the Lion Bar a successful Law Week celebration and progress in all their endeavours as a branch and in their individual lives.
Thank you and God bless.
