The news of the death of Chief Olubunmi Olugbade, past Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikere Ekiti Branch (2012-2014 and 2014-2016), on 9 February, 2021 came to the leadership and members of Egbe Amofin not only as a rude shock but also as a huge blow.
Chief Olubunmi Olugbade was indeed a beautiful soul. He was full of love and faith. He was a bar man par excellence. He was also a loving and caring father and husband. Now he is hidden from us but closer to his God and Maker, free from the vicissitudes and challenges of life.
Chief Olugbade was a committed member of Egbe Amofin and the Nigerian Bar Association. We salute his passion and dexterity for the sustainable growth and development of Egbe Amofin. We consider his commitment worthy of emulation. His remarkable contribution will be engraved in our hearts.
Chief Olugbade stood as a bridge between two generations of our members. He had tremendous capacity to relate with the elders as well as the younger generation. He combined the strength of a youth and the wisdom of an elder. He devoted his time, energy and resources to galvanising support for the cause of Egbe Amofin as well as deepening the commitment of members to the NBA. There is no doubt that Chief Olugbade will be sorely missed and we are deeply saddened by this huge loss.
