The Federal Government has identified 8 high risk countries in respect of the COVID-19 which are China, France, Germany, Japan, Iran, Italy, Republic of Korea and Spain.
The Government has decided to start screening travelers at points of entry from these eight high-risk countries with widespread transmission to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria. The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, revealed this at a news conference on Monday in Abuja.
He said, “Travelers from these eight countries would undertake secondary screening at points of entry and self-isolate for 14 days.” He also stated that the isolation centre in Gwagwalada, Abuja is almost ready as there has been remarkable improvement in the work going on at the centre.
