As the fear of lock down over covid-19 grips Abuja residents, a large number of people are engaging in panic buying leading to increase in prices and demand for food items and groceries alone.

Traders say they are happy to see a large number of people in the market and that prices of certain items like beef have increased as a result of the high demand. People have also been buying drugs as pharmacies confirm panic buying and a large demand for chloroquine and vitamin C.
