The Rivers State Government stated on Monday that the state is free of coronavirus after one suspected carrier tested negative last week.
The man who tested negative of the virus was said to have returned from Houston, Texas, USA, had gone to a private hospital in the Rivers State capital and asked that he should be tested for COVID-19, but was referred to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
State officials made disclosures at a seminar of stakeholders on the dreaded virus in Port Harcourt. The 5-man Committee set up by the State Government to raise awareness on the virus met stakeholders in a one day seminar in Port Harcourt. The objective was to arm the media, stakeholders and the public on the necessary information on the virus and at the end maintained that Rivers State remains free of the virus.
