As a young lawyer in 2017-2019, I thought Chukwuka Ikwuazom SAN was the NBA President because I often saw him at the forefront of matters concerning the Bar. He was very passionate about young lawyers when he was Chairman of the Premier Bar, and his administration set out very clear policies that had profound positive effects on the careers of young lawyers.

Significant Continuous Legal Education (CLE) activities of his administration include:

(1) The firm-led trainings, where law firms with expertise in specific field of law organised trainings for Lagos Branch members at no cost to the Branch;

(2) Group mentorship, featuring distinguished senior lawyers who shared the story of their rise in the legal profession in an informal and relaxed setting. Mr Ikwuazom ensured that the inaugural version of this group mentorship was undertaken by his partner, Gbenga Oyebode, MFR; and

(3) The one-to-one mentorship initiative, pairing over 200 young members of the Lagos Branch with mentors carefully selected from different parts of the world.
