A source close to the 2023 AGC Conferences Planning Committee has revealed that the NBA President, Mr. Y.C Maikyau, SAN has directed the Committee to revert registration fees back to the 2022 AGC rates.
The source noted that the President’s passion is driven by the need to equip young lawyers through professional development and continuing legal education.
This move is in line with the President’s promise to young lawyers and persons with disabilities during his inauguration ceremony. In his address, Mr. Maikyau stated that “My administration views conferences and particularly the AGC as knowledge sharing opportunities and our younger colleagues must be encouraged to take advantage of every such opportunity”.
Many lawyers had reacted to the approved fees, calling on the President to intervene in view of the current national economic situation.
The announcement is expected to be made shortly.
