Following the indefinite strike embarked upon by the Gombe State Chapter of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) on Monday the 16th March 2020, the State Government, yesterday, 17th March 2020 assured the people of the state that it has taken proactive measures to ensure that the industrial action of the doctors are less felt by the public.
The Doctors have complained that the state has failed to fulfill its promises in respect of the welfare of its members.
The State Government through its Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Gana, condemned the action whilst addressing newsmen in Gombe, the state capital.
The State Government was of the opinion that the action came at a wrong time when the whole world is struggling to contain the dreaded Coronavirus and Gombe State also trying to contain the spread of Lassa fever.
The Commissioner intimated that with the little resources of the state, it has invested heavily in the health sector.
