I have overtime, followed with keen interest, the professional contributions, of Dr. Babatunde Ajibade SAN, to the advancement of the practice of law in Nigeria, and even beyond its shores.
I have observed his uncommon ability, of having professional success, being embedded, in disarming brilliance, humility, candour, and integrity. I have no doubt whatsoever, that this consummate practitioner of law, has what it takes, to urgently tackle, the ills that have continued to bedevil our profession.
The most troubling of which are, the perennial delays in the despatch of cases in our law courts, the shrinking of work space opportunities for lawyers, and the failure of our courts, to deploy robust information technology platforms, that will facilitate virtual proceedings in court, coupled with requisite constitutional, and institutional reforms, in aid of our practice as lawyers.
These and indeed many more, are areas of concern, which need a consistent engagement or else the foundation might be diminished. I am therefore rightly constrained in the forlorn circumstance, to fully endorse the candidacy of Dr. Babatunde Ajibade SAN for the office of the President of the Nigerian Bar Association. Dr. Ajibade as we all know, straddles both areas of practice in Nigeria.
Apart from being a keen litigator, advocate and arbitrator he is also an astute commercial/transactional lawyer, who fully understands the needs of both areas of practice. I humbly urge you to please kindly support his quest for the Presidency of the NBA, so that the ailing fortunes of our profession can be revamped.
Most grateful.
